Mobile Apps for Editing Food Photos on the Go
Are you in search of the best editing apps for touching up your food pics? Believe it or not, some of the best apps don’t require a subscription.
Check out the apps we use to edit our food pics below!
BUILT-IN INSTAGRAM EDITOR
While the top-tier phone editors can accomplish a lot more, Instagram’s photo editor is more than you need for a few touch-ups before posting! Not only does it have the convenience of being built into the platform you’ll be posting on, but you also know there won’t be any changes to your final image – as what you see is what you get.
It not only allows you to easily edit pics, but you can purchase preset packs that fit your aesthetic which you can adjust to your liking. There is a useful option to ‘batch edit’ a bunch of photos at once, so no need to stress about getting the perfect edit only to decide on a different photo instead. You can also save your editing steps so you can keep your photo style consistent.
VSCO has both a paid version and a free version. While the subscription does give you a wider range of filters, we’re more than happy tweaking our food photos in the free version (especially as the range of free filters is quite large!).
Aside from being a powerful photo editing tool, Lightroom allows you to take photos within the app and gives you full control over the camera settings. It requires a paid subscription to use, but we particularly like the ability to isolate and adjust particular colors in your shot. We don’t think you need to go overkill on your editing app for posting food content on your socials, but if you want to get serious with it, Lightroom could be the way to go!
#MyJikoni top tip: always adjust the intensity of the filters. This allows you to make subtle changes to your mouth-watering pics so the edit isn’t too overpowering! Jikoni founder Kiano always sets her filters to below 50% intensity.
