It is a spicy chili blend that is paired with most of East Africa’s classic street food, from our seasonal sweet and sour mangoes to roast corn and steamed cassava. East African Street Chili (Pilipili Mwitu)

Ingredients

¼ cup red chili flakes

¼ cup of salt

1 tablespoon dried mixed herbs

1 tablespoon of smoked paprika

1 teaspoon of lemon zest

1 teaspoon of granulated sugar


Instructions

  1. Pour your teaspoon of sugar into a spice grinder and grind into a powder consistency.

Notes

  • Serve with lemon halves for chili application
