A taste of the Caribbean meets a North American favorite. Chef Adrian Forte’s Jerk Shrimp burger recipe is the right kind of spicy with an incredibly juicy bite. Pair this burger with crispy tots or chips.

JERK SHRIMP BURGER
Ingredients
Scale
1 1/2 tbsp. olive oil, plus more for the baking sheet
1 lb. frozen potato tots or puffs
1 tbsp added Jerk seasoning
1 lb. large peeled and deveined shrimp, chopped
45g egg white
1 tablespoon jerk marinade
2 scallions, finely chopped
2 tbsp. panko bread crumbs
black pepper
1 lime, halved
1/4 cup tartare sauce
4 challah rolls or buns, split
Instructions
- In a food processor, pulse together the shrimp, egg white, scallions, panko, jerk marinade and 1⁄4 teaspoon black pepper just to combine (there should be some chunks of shrimp).
- Heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Shape the shrimp mixture into four 3⁄4-inch-thick patties and cook until golden brown and opaque throughout, 3 to 4 minutes per side. Remove the skillet from the heat and squeeze the lime juice all over the burgers.
- If desired, spread the buns with tartar sauce, then top with the lettuce, shrimp patties, and tomato. Serve with tots or french fries
